The auction is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. The money raised funds McGilvra’s art program, academic specialists, tutors, and enrichment opportunities — the programs that keep our school strong and vibrant.

The evening includes cocktails, a silent auction, and a live auction program. Silent auction items use paper bid sheets, simply write your name and bid amount. Live auction items are called by our auctioneer and bidding is done by raising your paddle. We will also have items available online.

The theme is 1920s-inspired - think Great Gatsby glamour. We encourage you to Dress to Impress: cocktail attire and, if you’re feeling creative, flapper dresses, suspenders, and feathered headbands. Come as dressed-up or as casual as you like, it’s Seattle after all :)

Although some items will only be available for bidding at the event, we will also have a robust online auction. To participate in the online auction, visit our auction website, set up an account, and bid away!

The PTA intends for its programming to be accessible to all families. If the ticket price represents a burden to your family, please contact Amy McCue (asmccue@seattleschools.org) to discretely arrange free or discounted admission.

Tickets are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to transfer yours to another McGilvra family member. Just let us know at fundraising@mcgilvrapta.org.

This is a cocktail-style event with plenty of time for mingling and connecting. There will be plenty of open seating, but this year, we are also offering several options for reserved seating during the live auction. If you purchase a VIP Grade-Level ticket, you will be assigned to a table with other families from the same grade. If you purchase a Booth Lounge, you will be given your booth assignment and check-in.

There is limited street parking nearby, as well as a parking lot across the street. We recommend utilizing a rideshare for easy drop-off at the main entrance.

Most items will available for pickup at the event. Details for electronic gift certificates and experiences are usually included in your receipt after purchase. If you have questions about a specific item or you won an item online, email fundraising@mcgilvrapta.org.
Become an Event Sponsor
By being an event sponsor, your donation will not only make this important event possible, but it will also ensure that every dollar raised directly supports McGilvra's teachers and students. This year, we're aiming to raise $100,000 to continue providing these essential educational programs that make McGilvra extraordinary. Your sponsorship is crucial to reaching this goal.
The McGilvra PTA would be glad to work with you to develop a customized sponsorship package that includes in-kind donations and/or auction items. If you become an event sponsor, your logo will appear on event signage, the auction website, and other promotional materials, including posters at the school and information sent home with each student. This is a great opportunity to promote your business to 120-150 attendees and hundreds of neighborhood families, while supporting our school!
If you would like to sponsor the event, please contact the PTA Fundraising team at fundraising@mcgilvrapta.org or contact Lauren Gishuru at 206-743-6150. You can also purchase the sponsorship from our ticket page (click on Sponsorship Option). To ensure maximum visibility, we request sponsorship commitments as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, March 14, 2026.

McGilvra Families
McGilvra has a long tradition of families hosting a variety of buy-in events and parties. You set the date and families buy a ticket for your event. Be creative!! To get you started, here are a few ideas from the past:
Wildcat Pizza Delivery (Select a date and time window and deliver pizzas to ~4 McGilvra families. Families will order and pay for their pizza - you just put on the McGilvra Wildcat costume, pick up the pizzas from Pagliacci, and deliver them.)
Margarita Mamas / Sangria at Sunset (Sip some cocktails with other moms - a McGilvra tradition)
Kids Manicure Party (Take a few kids for a manicure at a local salon)
Kids’ Magic Show (Host a magic show at your house/backyard)
Pig Roast (Rumor has it that a McGilvra family used to host a pig roast! Want to restart the tradition?!)
